Emotional Intelligence
Nowadays, people are paying more attention to emotional intelligence and how it helps us lead a happy and successful life. Many studies have shown that having good emotional intelligence can reduce feelings of sadness, improve our overall health, and help us make strong connections with others. However, many young people, especially during their teenage years, have a hard time understanding and controlling their own emotions, understanding what others are trying to say, and dealing with stressful situations. These difficulties can cause problems with their personality, make them feel depressed, make it hard for them to fit in socially, and affect their school performance.
The main goal of the project was to improve emotional intelligence among young people in the communities where the partner organizations are active. The partners had been concerned about the emotional intelligence of young people for a long time. But because of the challenging times caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the partners once again brought up the issue of the importance of learning skills to navigate a changing world. The pandemic has made people feel isolated, worried about not having a job, and afraid for the health of their loved ones. These challenges are especially tough for young people because they may feel powerless and unsure about how they can make things better. They are constantly bombarded with information and struggle to know what is true.
Objectives reached
From October 31 to November 9, 2022, we organized an international event where 40 young people from Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia explored how to handle their emotions and actions, as well as events in society.
We made young people in the partner communities aware of tools to deal with societal and peer pressure, improving their mental health and well-being.
We provided the partner organizations with non-formal methods and tools to better support young people in stressful situations and enhance their operational capacities.

About the Project
The youth exchange took place in Izvoare, a small mountain town which lies in the heart of Transylvania. It is surrounded by the beautiful Harghita-Madaras Mountains, offering a breathtaking view of nature. It represents the perfect place to connect with nature and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the place.
For the accommodation, we faced the facility of “Irgo Pension”, which provides modern looking but in the same time traditional decorations, free time spaces and a conference room. It is a place sourounded by nature and beautiful landscapes.
The general objective was to provide a platform for 40 youths aged 17-27 from Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia to share ideas, opinions, experiences, and emotions, thereby enhancing their emotional intelligence. The project aimed to contribute to their general well-being and professional lives.
